How we help
Tax is simple. Or at least, we make it simple.
We make sure you comply with those pesky government regulations, while helping you retain as much of your hard-earned profits as legally possible. But that doesn’t happen by frantically filing a return at the last minute. No, we work with you throughout the year to plan for and minimize your tax obligations, so when tax season rolls around, we’re ready.
You’ll always know where you stand when it comes to tax, and all that’s really left for you to do is sign a couple of papers before filing. Now doesn’t that sound great?
“I have no idea what any of this means!” Ever found yourself uttering that as you stare at your numbers? Or a tax return form? Or a funding application?
If the answer’s “yes!”, you need a part-time CFO.
What’s a part-time CFO?
CFO stands for Chief Financial Officer. Now that may sound like a fancy (and expensive) individual that only massive companies can afford to hire, but the truth is even the smallest of design firms can benefit from working with a CFO part-time.
How is a CFO different from an accountant?
While an accountant will keep you compliant, run reports, and file returns, a CFO will take an altogether more holistic view of your business finances.
As your part-time CFO, we will review detailed financial reports with you to ensure they’re aligned with your short, medium, and long-term goals.
Having a part-time CFO is a little like having someone next to you in the cockpit. We’re here to answer your questions and keep you on course.
Steps to working together
Working together shouldn’t be complicated
After you’ve contacted us, we’ll arrange a quick video call (usually 15-20 minutes) to learn more about you and your business, and to figure out what it is you need now and in the future.
Once we determine where you’re at, we confirm that we’re on the same page.
Based on your needs, we issue a customized proposal.
If you’re happy with the proposal, you sign it and complete the billing information.
And that’s it! We’re ready to get started.
You may find you need some additional support.

“I have interviewed several CPAs and have admired and valued each one, but – let’s be serious – the business side of interior design is not for the meek of heart. Knowing that Peter genuinely loves working with the interior designer’s business model put him right at the top of my list.”
